Steven Khalil’s 2017 Resort Collection, showcased at Carriage works during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2016, was one of the most glamorous shows of the season. I had the pleasure of assisting front of house, which involved setting up the floor and preparing gift bags while Steven Khalil was in the presence - major star struck moment! On top of that, I was given the opportunity to actually stand at the front row and witness the most remarkable show of MBFWA16 (a once in a life time experience) and I have all the stirring details.

Every look that came down the runway had a sparkling element, whether it was his intricate use of beading or his use of metallic colours. The lights shone onto the designs as they made their way down the catwalk, highlighting every small detail of the lace, beading, sequence and textures, causing the anticipation within the audience.

His collection featured breathtaking dresses, using textures such as lace, embroidery, beading and glitter. Colours in his collection included white, grey, black, lavender and metallic. He ended the evening with a show-stopping bridal gown, which is what he is known for. This was the moment everyone was waiting for and it did not disappoint when it made its appearance. The atmosphere was remarkable, roaring with eagerness- definitely an experience I will not forget.

Steven Khalil creates his designs to make women feel glamorous, sophisticated and special, and all those designs that made their debut that evening were just of that, staying true to the brand.

It truly was a night to remember. Steven Khalil- You're a legend!
