“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades”
From her French inspired updos and dashing wardrobe often filled with Givenchy, Audrey Hepburn has captured the hearts of the fashion industry until this very day – becoming an ultimate style icon.

Audrey Hepburn, an actress, fashion icon and humanitarian of the 50s, is recognised as one of the most beautiful and stylish women in history. She was slim and tall with thick brows, structured cheek bones and big brown eyes – Hubert De Givenchy describing her as “a gift from on high”.
She has created a persona in her style, both on and off screen, remaining classy and simple by sticking to her own personal style and staying away from trends. Her style has always appeared sophisticated and clean. It was the essence of when style and elegance was born during her time – marking a historical period in the fashion industry.
Simplicity was significant in her style, preferring clean lines and basic colours. Hepburn is responsible for making many looks famous – looks that are still in trend that I love and wear.
One of her many renowned look includes capri pants and ballerina flats, pairing it with a turtle neck blouse. It was an exciting new look as it was feminine, young and elegant - and is still going strong. She changed the game when she started to wear men’s button up shirts in the film Roman Holiday, creating another impeccable look women wear today – plain white shirt open at the collar. Her most well-known look is the little black dress designed by Givenchy, in which she made famous in 1961 when she wore it in the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s - the dress that every girl dreamt of having in their closets.
Today, she influences major celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman. She also played a huge influence on Leighton Meester’s character in Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf, as Blair was hugely inspired by Breakfast At Tiffany’s and incorporated elements inspired by this in her outfits.
Why do we love Audrey Hepburn? Well her sophistication, timeless fashion sense and kind heart has hugely influenced women for decades, becoming a role model to many - I know I absolutely adore her.
